Music Therapist: Improving Life with Song and Dance

Home

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. During my years as a teacher of dance and music, I didn’t realize that many of my teaching styles were actually a form of music therapy. I am an accredited, board certified music therapist, and have fulfilled the requirements for the MM Clinical Equivalency Master of Music Therapy degree at Arizona State University. I am especially passionate about helping both children and families find a special connection through music therapy, no matter what their situation is. Through my experiences in working with people from babies thru adults, I have styles and techniques that build self-esteem and purpose in life. My aim is to meet each individual where they are at in that moment. If I allow this freedom to my clients, they will feel compassion and love. I also realize that even when pain is unbearable, patients and families seek humor and pleasure. I strive to empower children and families with respect, patience, understanding and creativity.

The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. – Helen Keller
